Service Opportunities
BE THE HANDS AND FEET OF JESUS!
Serving at Garden City Christian Church is a great way to use your gifts while getting to know others! We encourage everyone to be a part of a team so they are serving consisitently in a way that is meaningful. Teams at GCCC vary in size and frequency.
SERVE IN THE CHURCH

Servant leadership
A Lead Servant is any servant who leads other servants in an assigned task or service-oriented ministry.
“Lead servant” is the literal translation of the Greek term diakinos or “deacon” or “deaconess.” We believe using the translation of the word helps us more clearly understand and execute the Biblical purposes for this role in the church. We also believe this is the example provided for us in the early Church (Book of Acts) and how they accomplished ministry through the gifts of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:7-13).
If you are interested in serving in a specific area, please contact the lead servant over that ministry. If you feel that God might be calling you to lead in a new ministry, please contact an elder of the church and discuss the need that you see and how you can help us meet that need.

Ministry TEAMs
Every Sunday is someone's first Sunday. We are building and developing teams of people to welcome new and returning guests each Sunday. This includes greeters, prayer partners, parking lot attendants, bulletin coordinators, and Connection Center helpers.
Tips: Spend time listening, Give the gift of touch, offer to pray with/for them, Leave something with them as a reminder of your visit like a card, a flower, last week's bulletin or sermon cd, food, etc.

KIDCONNECTION:
KidConnection is our ministry geared to the youngest of us. It includes infants thru fifth grade children. We want our children to have a wonderful experience learning about God's love. Join our team as a teacher or helper with babies (under 2 years) in our nursery, our preschool class (2 years old through pre-k), or our elementary age children (K-5) during the 9 o'clock Sunday School Hour or 10 o'clock Worship Hour. 8th graders- adults can contact Molly Black, Children's & Families Minister.
STUDENTS/YOUTH: This ministry is focused on our students in 6th grade through 12th grade. We would love for you to become a part of our Wednesday evenings as a sponsor! Contact the church office if you are interested in serving in this area.

Worship Ministry Teams
Praise Team/AV Team: Serving on a worship team is an excellent opportunity to honor God and help other people pursue God. We are a team of musicians, vocalists, technical volunteers, and worshipers in every sense. We exist to create an environment that is a catalyst for heart change and to explore ways in which God can move us to be closer to Him through worship. Communion Servers: Requirements— regular attender, baptized believer, 16+ years old, and stamina to walk and carry trays. Contact Greg George.
